STUDY: Beer Goggles Don’t Exist, You Horny Drunk

STUDY: Beer Goggles Don't Exist, You Horny Drunk Recently woke up next to another Josie Grossie? Well, you can stop blaming booze-addled judgment and put the blame back on your penis. According to a new study by Dr.

Amanda Ellison of Durham University's psych department, we see people and potential hookups no differently because of our blood alcohol content. "We still see others basically as they are," she says. "There is no imagined physical transformation just more desire. Hangovers are caused by dehydration: the brain shrinks and tugs on the meninges. But before that, alcohol switches off the rational and decision-making areas of the brain while leaving the areas to do with sexual desire relatively intact." In other words, the brain's lusty section is the last to go on your road to blitzville.

But what does she know?

The weekend's almost here for you to conduct hours and hours of your own intensive research.

Bottoms up! Continue reading

‘Behind the Candelabra’ Star Matt Damon Talks Sex Scenes and Spray Tans

'Behind the Candelabra' Star Matt Damon Talks Sex Scenes and Spray Tans We felt totally teased by the recent Behind the Candelabra teaser , but the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly has us tickled pink. Michael Douglas plays Liberace and Matt Damon portrays Scott Thorson, the unlikely lover of the late entertainer, in the Steven Soderbergh-directed HBO biopic, which will premiere May 26. In the new EW cover story out Friday the two stars discuss the movie, which EW describes as "one of the weirdest, glitziest gay love stories ever put on film." Every Sunday night, this girl would come to my house and I would stand in my garage and I would hike my boxer briefs up into the crack of my a and she would give me a spray tan, says Damon of the preparation for his wearing tiny metallic thongs.

Boxer briefs, eh? We knew it! The pair also addresses the film's many sex scenes.

The scene where I m behind him and going at him, we did that in one take, says Damon. We do it. Cut.

There s a long pause. And then you just hear Steven go, 'Well I have no notes.'" So Damon's the top? We knew it!

Are you more excited than ever to see Behind the Candelabra ? Continue reading

Q&A Quickie: Madame’s Back and Randy as Ever

Q&A Quickie: Madame's Back and Randy as Ever Before there were divas on every channel, Madame was one of the world s most outrageous, dishing out randy double entendres for years as a guest on Laugh-In, Solid Gold, and Hollywood Squares, where she answered the final question on the last episode of the long-running game show. She even had her own short-lived sitcom, Madame s Place. More recently, she appeared on Seth MacFarlane s Family Guy and Bravo s Watch What Happens Live!

with host Andy Cohen. Her creator, puppeteer-comedian Wayland Flowers, was among the first openly gay entertainers and helped pave the way for many others to come before his untimely death in 1988. Now that Madame has found a new straight man the talented and funny Gary Holland the comedy legend is back onstage, chasing laughs and, of course, men.

Legendary party-producer and White Party founder Jeffrey Sanker will honor Madame during the weekend-long bacchanal (Mar.

29-31) when he christens her with the title of Dame. We caught up with the notorious cougar, who has an affinity for gay men, before her upcoming aristocratic ascension to ask about her return to the spotlight, the first time she met Sanker, and where a Dame goes to get a drink in Palm Springs. Gay.net: Where have you been keeping yourself?

Madame: Oh, honey, I ve been traveling, everywhere from Bangkok to Bangladesh. I ve done everything twice and loved it both times. Now I m performing again, trying to put a smile on everyone s face, even if I have to do it one man at a time.

When did you first meet Jeffrey Sanker? I met him back in the Studio 54 days. He was so young.

He spilled a drink in my lap and, being a gentleman, insisted on having it cleaned. Well, we went in the back and worked it out. And then later, we worked it back in!

I slipped him my number and it only took him 22 years to call me. Men! Which is your favorite: pool party or underwear party?

Which is the one where everyone ends up naked and wet? What music are you listening to these days? Oh, I just love those sexy DJs, Dave and Gerardo.

And Pornstar. With a name like that, how can you go wrong? But right now, I m listening to the voices in my head sing Diana Ross s Love Hangover.

I think I need a cocktail. Where do you like to go in Palm Springs? I usually run into Wang s for a quickie and sometimes stay for dinner.

I also enjoy a good, long ride, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway isn t bad either. Or I follow my nose to Toucan s for the drag shows. But the original cougar is definitely in her natural habitat when she s tracking go-go boys at Hunter s.

Honey, I hit all the bars. After all, this is the desert and you simply must stay hydrated. What is the most important thing to have when you travel?

A well-stocked minibar and a sense of humor.

You will definitely need both, but not necessarily in that order. (Via Advocate ) Continue reading

Is Broadway’s ‘Kinky Boots’ Drag Queen a ‘Heterosexual Transvestite’?

Is Broadway's 'Kinky Boots' Drag Queen a 'Heterosexual Transvestite'? Based on the 2005 movie about a drag queen named Lola/Simon saving a shoe factory, Kinky Boots is now a Broadway musical written by Harvey Fierstein with a score by Cyndi Lauper. Sound gay enough for you?

But according to Michael Musto at the Village Voice , who recently attended a Kinky Boots promo event, the musical may not be as gay as you think. When Musto mentioned the "gay drag queen" character to Fierstein, he reportedly replied, "He's a heterosexual transvestite!" Huh? "He's asexual in the movie. He never talks about anything.

My feeling is that Lola is so damaged that she doesn't have sexuality. She has sensuality and genius, but no self-worth." Well, leave it to outspoken out performer Billy Porter, who stars as Lola/Simon, to set the record straight so to speak. "But Lola is gay," Porter told Musto, contradicting Fierstein. "We're in a fight about this. Do you think after 25 years of being out, and now wearing a dress and playing the character the way I do, that I'm gonna be straight in it?

Nobody's gonna believe my version of the character is straight! That's not how I play it!" As for clues in the script that suggest Lola's sexuality, Porter said, "There is a bit of sexual innuendo at the top of Act II. It used to go in the direction of 'He's straight.' Now it's 'He ain't straight.'" However, both Porter and Fierstein seem to agree that Lola is probably a virgin and that the real love story at the heart of the musical is between him and the straight guy who has inherited the shoe factory.

Added Porter, "It's not about who I'm fucking." Kinky Boots opens Apr.

4 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Continue reading

Deborah Cox Breaks the Silence on HIV Awareness

Deborah Cox Breaks the Silence on HIV Awareness Is there a chart-topping R&B-dance diva we adore as much as Miss Deborah Cox? Absolutely not! Currently on tour performing in the Broadway-bound musical Jekyll & Hyde opposite American Idol alum Constantine Maroulis, the Grammy-nominated singer found time to chat with HIV Plus about why she's chosen HIV awareness as her charitable mission in life.

Cox has joined forces with the Break the Silence campaign , which works to bring HIV back into the national conversation. Did you know that a woman tests positive for HIV every 35 minutes in this country? It s the leading cause of death for black women ages 25 to 34, and we make up for 66% of the new cases of HIV, Cox says in her Break the Silence PSA, which you can watch below.

I was shocked when I learned of this recently, because I thought for sure that with all the information that s out there, for as long as we ve been talking about this, that we would have been moving in a different direction. But instead women are at a greater risk. I m Deborah Cox and I m a mother and I was a friend to three beautiful souls who have passed away from HIV.

Cox's first experience with AIDS, the experience that cemented her commitment to the cause, was when a gay friend of hers succumbed to the disease after being abandoned by many of his religious friends and family. A big part of it was that he was African-American and in the closet and had just come out, not only about being gay but also about being HIV-positive, she tells the magazine. There s still a huge stigma in the African-American community about being gay.

There are still a lot of people living in shame because they lose their family, they lose everyone who once supported them... When people find out they re alone, that contributes to the illness too. When you don t have that emotional support it s a downward spiral.

That s what happened to my friend.

I never want to see that again.

WATCH: Violent Arrest Caught on Tape During Gay Pride

WATCH: Violent Arrest Caught on Tape During Gay Pride A police officer caught on video grabbing a party-goer by the throat in Australia during a gay pride event and then violently throwing him onto the pavement has triggered international outrage. The YouTube video, recorded during Sydney's 2013 Mardi Gras , is titled "Police Brutality," but The Guardian reports that officials claim 18-year-old Jamie Jackson resisted arrest, used offensive language and assaulted a police officer. None of that appears in the video, which begins just after witnesses say an officer smashed Jackson's head on the ground and left him bleeding and crying out that he'd done nothing wrong.

Another officer on the tape repeatedly orders whoever is doing the recording to stop, though he refuses.

Event organizers issued a statement calling the footage "quite distressing" and described it as "excessive force." They are calling for "a transparent investigation into this issue and into the numerous complaints received over the course of the festival." Watch the video below.
